By participating in any manner at CORMCC, you agree that you have read, understand, and will be bound by these and all other rules publically communicated about such use. Understanding and following the rules is your responsibility.
CORMCC provides access to well-maintained off and on road R/C raceways, for both racing and practice. Using our facilities means following our rules, designed to promote a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. CORMCC reserves the right to warn and/or ban guests from the grounds should this be necessary. Observe the following rules at all times.
General Rules
- Swearing and tantrums are prohibited at all times, day and night. Period, no exceptions, no tolerance. CORMCC is a family-friendly facility.
- Smoking is prohibited on the drivers stand, in pit lane and whilst corner marshaling.
- Drive with courtesy during practice sessions... let the faster cars past.
- Please place all trash in provided bins, or take it home with you.
- Driving happens on the tracks. Do not operate your vehicle in the pits, parking area, or other areas off the track surfaces. It is dangerous for spectators and can cause flying rocks. (Not to mention the noise is extreemly annoying for other racers)
- Drive from the driver's stand only during racing. Do not drive while retrieving a car, walking across the track, or standing in a marshalling area.
- Corner marshals should stand only in marshalling areas within the course or along the edges of the course. Enter the roadway only to retrieve vehicles, and only after looking for oncoming traffic.
- Drive only in the intended direction of the track as determined during layout design for each track (anti clockwise). Do not drive backwards at any time.
Racing Rules
The primary mission of CORMCC is, of course, racing. Whether you're a weathered racer or a rank novice, the following additional rules apply while racing at our facility. We all know that racing gets the adreniline pumping! However, please respect your fellow competitors. The "heat of the moment" is not an excuse for inappropriate behavior.
- Racing classes are generally self-selected. Please select the most appropriate class based on your vehicle, skill, and experience. Management changes to your selected class are for the good of everyone participating. Please do not be offended!
- All racers must take their turn corner marshalling. You will typically marshall right after racing. If you need an exception for medial reasons, first attempt to find someone to sub for you. Failing that, contact the race director and he'll do it. Please do not take advantage of this opportunity.
- Return track transponders promptly. Generally, you will complete your heat, return transponder to race control, and move to an open corner marshalling position. The use of a track transponder for the day is a privilege, and we may request your phone number prior to issuing one.
- No yelling at corner marshals. If you become flipped or stuck and no marshal responds promptly, you may call out something like "Help in the middle, please!" You may gas up briefly to attract attention. The race director is also likely to assist. Remember that marshals are human, and your turn is next. Don't crash and you'll never have a problem ;)
- Let off the throttle as a marshal approaches your vehicle. We understand that throttle blips may be required to keep highly tuned engines running smoothly, but marshals don't want to grab wildly spinning tires, nor be showered in dirt.
Policy Statement on Marshalling
Racing at CORMCC requires not only payment of race fees but also an agreement to effectively marshal assigned race(s), typically that following the racer's own. "Effective" marshalling includes reaching a marshalling location in a timely maner, refraining from smoking/drinking/eating/phoning during such duties, and marshalling to the best of one's ability. We can't allow violations of this requirement to continue unchecked from anyone, since they impact not only our enjoyment of the race day but that of every racer in attendance. Aside from medical exceptions this identical requirement is met by all racers in attendance, and an ongoing issue from anyone will necessarily result in some form of suspension from the facility.
New Participants
If you're new to R/C (or just to organized R/C racing), you have one special rule:
- If you don't know or don't understand, just ask. We're all friendly folks, and like knowing more than someone else!
Track-Specific Rules and Classes
